MOST IMPORTANT STEP TO START AN ONLINE BUSINESS: CHOOSE RIGHT KEYWORD

In my past article, I have written about keyword research. After you do that keyword research, you must sort and choose your list of keyword (it is important step before start an online business). But there are some problems. Which keyword that you should choose? Which one is better than others? Before you go any further (especially if you confused with this post), I suggest you read my earlier post about: ” Build Online master’s foundation before start an online business” to get the main idea.

You should see these points seriously before you start an online business:

1. Estimated avg cpc

2. advertiser competition

3. Approx search volume

4. Approx avg search volume

5. Google search result (from google.com)

Make tables of them on excel, and then add some parameter below (it is important step before start an online business):

A. Demand : supply.

It is equals to point 4 (Approx avg search volume): 5 (Google search result (from google.com). Demand means how many times a keyword is search for 1 month. Supply means how many web pages that use that keyword. This demand: supply parameter will show you how big demand value is divided by supply value for a keyword. The bigger it is, the better, because it means high demand but low competitors.

B. Total Money

It equals to: point 4 (Approx avg search volume) X point 1 (Estimated avg cpc). Point A & B is important either to be looked more before start an online business. Money total parameter means how big “money” from that keyword. I know that it is not real money, but it can give you good parameter for your online business start up research. You can use this parameter to compare the money potency of one keyword to another. The higher it is, the bigger its money potency.

For example: there are 3 keywords: Golf swing, money, fat loss. Let’s say that their Approx avg search volume and estimated avg cpc as mention bellow (not a real value):

Golf swing – 2,000 – US$ 7 —- money tot = US$14,000

Money – 20,000 – US$ 1—- money tot = US$20,000

fat loss – 5,000 – US$ 0.5—- money tot = US$2,500

As you start an online business, which one is the best?

It means “money” have biggest money potency. Bigger cpc (point1) means people that search for that keyword can pay bigger (as average) than people that search others keyword. People that look for “golf swing” averagely willingly pay bigger for that topic than the one who search “fat loss” keyword.

Bigger Approx avg search volume (point 4) means there are more people search that keyword.

Make sure to compare point 1-5 and point A & B to find which keyword is better than others.

Choosing keyword is essential part to determine your topic, seo, Adword, etc. Before start an online business, you must do a detail keyword researches.

Chose wrong keywords means bad online business start up.
