Going, Going, Gone!

By John St. Sauveur

We have all heard the speeches by our parents or elders, about how life goes by so fast. Or how they talk about past experiences and what they would have done differently. You know what I’m talking about.

Why is it that most of us love to hear it, but we don’t react? When we listen to our older family members or friends talk about life’s experiences, we immerse ourselves in the story. Then after the story is over, our reactions are always the same. We respond by saying something like,… “you’re right”, “I’ll keep that in mind”, “I know, I know”. We listen, but do we hear what they are teaching us? Do we ever learn from our elders? Or do we always have to do things our way, and learn the hard way? There are many different lessons we are taught by our elders, and yes some we have to experience for ourselves no matter what.

But there is always one story or lesson that every single person in this world has heard! Choose a career that makes you happy and earns you a good living! You don’t want to struggle.

Some of us get it, but most of us don’t. It took me awhile to get it too!

Do you realize that our elders, friends, mentors, people who truly care, are all trying to steer us in the right direction. Also, that they are the “blueprint” to a complete and fulfilling lifestyle! Yes the “blueprint”, to being happy in whatever you do. This free “blueprint” is worth more than its weight in gold. There is no monetary figure you can place on the experiences we are given. Yet why is it we take this information for granted? Sure we listen in the moment, but the next day we forget all about what we been told.

For the past few years of my life, I routinely think that God has played a dirty(in a nice way) little trick on me. Some of you may not look at it this way. Since my son was born in December of 2005, I cherish each and every day with him. The older I get the more I value my life, my son’s life and the family and friends I have. And I wish I had two lives, two go-arounds. Fact is, and its a sad fact,… we don’t. We have one chance to create the most fulfilling lifestyle possible. I do believe in eternal life. But man I want to stay on this earth as long as possible. And I want to have freedom! Freedom to do what I want, when I want.

Now some of us get the picture early on in life. Some of us take the “blueprint” given to us, lay it out and act on it. Most of us just live a programmed existence. We work for someone, 40 – 50 hours a week, and get a couple days off to enjoy life. We are programmed to accept the routine as,”this is what the majority does, so I have to do it too”! Or you don’t even think about it really, and just go through life this way!

Here’s an important question that will sum it all up. Is your way of life acceptable to you? Is your existence exactly how you dreamed it would be? Did you really think ahead and say “yeah I am fine with working 40+ hours a week for the next 50 years! God I hope not.

Some people (small percentage) earn a great living and may be satisfied. But if you could improve or change it to be so much better, why wouldn’t you!!
How many people do you know that fit the “doing exactly what they want to do” lifestyle, and how many fit the “NOT doing exactly what they want to do” lifestyle? I bet its about a 95% to 5% split. Maybe worse! If you asked all of your friends and family that question, I bet the majority are not completely fulfilled.

Here’s where I can help to provide an avenue to change your life completely!

First let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am in my early 40’s, own a business, and also work as a consultant in the Information Technology industry. Although, I am slowly phasing myself out of the IT industry. I have worked in the IT industry for over 20 years, and for the last 10 years have made over a six digit yearly income. I have a little boy who is 3 years old! I started another business about 7 years ago, which has not been making much profit, but is consistently getting better.

You might say, wow sounds like a pretty good life right? He’s owns a business, works in the IT industry, has a 3 year old son, makes a six figure income. It does sound pretty good! Let me shock you a little. My life is ok. Aside from my son being the love of my life, and everyday with him is a new adventure, the rest of it is mediocre. Here’s why.

I’ve busted my butt for the last 10 years or so, trying to make a better life for myself, and for my family. I’ve worked long hours week after week, I’ve had to fly around the country, I’ve had long commutes back and forth to work, all keeping me away from my family. Yeah I’ve made good money. But when I look back at the amount of time I’ve spent away from the one’s I love, it has not been worth it! All my hard work over the years, hadn’t subsided the slightest bit. It’s not acceptable to me.

For years I knew there had to be something better out there. I just had a gut feeling. Somewhere there was a better life. I wanted to spend more time with my son. I wanted to work less, even if I didn’t make as much money. I wasn’t accepting that I had to work 50 – 60 hours a week, sometimes more with travel, to earn the living I had. I didn’t want to be away from my son for long periods of time. It just wasn’t worth it anymore.

Then one day a few short months ago my life finally changed. Let’s just say since that day, I don’t ever plan on working for someone again. I will never look back. I’m burning down the bridges I’ve built along the way. Why? Because I refuse to work in corporate America again! I refuse to conform to the “standard” way of life. And because of this I have become financially independent!

Listen, I have consulted for MAJOR corporations throughout my career. If I mentioned a few names you would recognize them right away. But I’m not going to. I don’t want to take a chance of any issues legally against me.

During these years I have seen so much crap go on, that it sickens me. I have seen CEO’s lose their jobs literally overnight. Good men and women that didn’t deserve it. I have seen middle management have to take responsibility for things out of their control and pay for it! Regular employees, ha! Your a dime a dozen! And that’s how you get treated. I myself have had to be the whipping post and take blame for something my boss(es) told me to do. Then when, you know what hits the fan, they act like they had nothing to do with it! They would protect themselves, not me. Complete B.S.! There are a few exceptions out there, but most will cover their own butts first and put a nail in you.

I went off on a little tangent there. I’d like to shift gears and get to the heart of the matter!

I’ve added this new opportunity to my other business, and I plan on continuing to grow, and grow and grow. For the last 9 months, I wake up with my son every day, eat breakfast with him, play around for a couple hours, go into work for 1230p until 530p. I set my schedule, and absolutely do not work on weekends! BEAUTIFUL!

Let me show you, how you to can develop a lifestyle designed around what’s important to you. Pure and simple business, that’s all! If you choose not to let me help, I honestly wish you luck and happiness.

Don’t let your life pass without truly being free to live it the way You want to!
